I have a speck pixel skin case on my iTouch but it does not hinder use of the stand. In fact, the skin helps keep my iPod balanced in the stand. No sliding, no falling, and no tipping, even when standing vertically/portrait. And for added stability, I put a little bit of poster putty on the bottom of the stand so that even if I bump my desk, my iTouch and the stand stays perfectly in place. This stand is simple solid, and suits my needs perfectly.
